The climate in Southern Morocco is ideal for this active winter break. Surrounded by the Jebel Sahro mountain range we cycle through kasbahs, tribal villages and cool oases in the Draa Valley. We ride camels to a nomad desert camp in the Sahara, explore the rock formations of the Todra Gorge and ride through Berber countryside in the High Atlas.


8 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Marrakech. Day 2 High Atlas Stop at the famous kasbah in Ait Ben Haddou on the drive to Ouarzazate. Day 3 Draa Valley Surrounded by the Jebel Sahro mountain range, cycle from Ouarzazate into the Draa Valley, passing date palms, ancient kasbahs and ksours (fortifi ed villages). Days 4/5 Sahara Ride through the desert towards Erfoud, visiting the local market at Rissani. Take a camel ride to the vast sand dunes of Erg Chebbi and stay overnight in a nomad camp in the great Sahara. Day 6 Todra Gorge Take a walk through one of the region’s most impressive rock formations. Visit El Kelaa Mgouna –

renowned for its rose-water – and drive through the scenic ‘Valley of the 1000 Kasbahs’. Day 7 High Atlas and Marrakech Driving into the High Atlas, take an exhilarating ride downhill from the Tizi n’Fedrhate Pass (2180m) through Berber fi elds and villages. Drive to the ‘Red City’ of Marrakech and spend time exploring the maze of alleyways in the souks and the celebrated ‘circus’ of Djemma el-Fna Square. Day 8 Tour ends Marrakech.

Accommodation: 5 nights standard hotels, 1 night simple hotel 1 night basic desert camp. Meals: 7 breakfasts and 1 dinner are included. Tour Staff: Explore Tour Leader/guide cycles with the group each day. Included bike: 21-gear Stockli XC bikes with front suspension and a rear pannier bag. Route and Terrain: On this tour we cover approximately 219 km in 5 days (an average of 44 km a day). The terrain is mainly fl at or downhill on tarmac roads as we use a bus to drive the steeper sections. A support vehicle/bus accompanies the tour in full, providing transfers between cycling points and carrying luggage. We have graded this trip as moderate. Group size: Generally 10 to 16.
