We discover the varied and beautiful scenery of Tuscany with a rewarding ride between cultural highlights. From the renaissance capital Florence we ride through Chianti vineyards, olive groves and forests to the medieval hilltop town of Castellina in Chianti. We spend time in the ancient city of Siena before heading further south through classic, rolling Tuscan scenery to the charming hilltop villages of Montalcino and Pienza.
8 day tour itinerary
Day 1 Join tour in Florence. Day 2 Chianti vineyards A ride through forests, vineyards and picturesque Chianti villages. Day 3 South to Siena Riding south through classic Tuscan landscapes we make our way to the grand city of Siena. Day 4 Siena Today is left free to explore this wonderful city or take an optional trip north to Florence. Day 5 Montalcino Cycling further south the landscape slowly transforms into the popular image of rolling vineyards dotted with Cypress trees and beautiful hilltop
villages. Day 6 Pienza We cycle past Brunello vineyards to the reviving thermal waters of Bagno Vignoni, where we have time to take a dip. Continue to the hilltop perch of Pienza town where we spend the night. Day 7 Picture Postcard Tuscany A circular cycle route that passes through the beautiful and historic towns of Montepulciano and Montichiello. Day 8 Drive to Florence airport where the tour ends.

The terrain is hilly over the fi rst two days, then rides onto the rolling plain with ascents to hilltop towns. 80% on tarmac roads and 20% on gravel roads. A support vehicle is available throughout, except on circular route day 7. The tour is graded moderate. Group size: Generally 10 to 16.
