Strawberry Field Nursery
The children at Strawberry Field Nursery enjoyed the wee spell of warm weather. We did lots of activities outside, including going on a treasure hunt to the local woods, the children had to find wild animals in the trees and bushes (hidden by the staff) and
follow a map to find the hidden treasure (mini Easter eggs!).
Our Future scientists have enjoyed a variety of science experiments including
making
volcano’s and “fizzy pop” i.e., blowing up balloons using bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and water.
Our next topic is going to be about pirates. You can find out all about the fun we have planned next month.
Langbank Playgroup
For once the sun shone on a Langbank Playgroup trip! We had a good day at Lamont Farm and got up close and personal with a number of the animals; lots to see including rabbits, ducks, geese, goats, llamas, ponies, some very cute new lambs and not to mention Spider the giant pig. The children had a great time looking, touching and asking questions about everything they saw. It was a lovely social occasion with mums and dads there too.
The summer term is always hectic and we look forward to more visitors from Langbank Primary coming along to help our pre-school children with their transition to school, plus practising for Sports Day and having fun at the Graduation party. Children from Langbank and surrounding areas welcome from 2.5yrs to pre-school and for more information, please call our Chair, Jacqueline, on 01475 540728. Many thanks to all the villagers who supported our recent ragbag appeal and to Renfrewshire Council for their grant.
Lochwinnoch Primary
With the Olympic Torch visiting our village this June, Lochwinnoch Primary School has some exciting plans for an outdoor project.
Our goal is to create a range of areas to allow pupils to try new sports, learn new skills and to improve our outdoor facilities within the playground. While the project is particularly special this year, it will also create a lasting facility for years to come which can be enjoyed by current and future pupils of the school. We have plans for a traversing wall, an outdoor classroom, a quiet area to read and draw, playground games and much more!
If you can help us through time, materials or monetary donations we would love to hear from you. Please contact Jane Knox, Parent Council Chairperson, for more details. Email:

Cameron - “The shot putt was the best game because I through it the furthest and won.”
Shaun - “I liked the tug of war game the best because I was pulling really hard and we were trying to win.” Lucy - “Tossing the caber was my favourite game because it was a bit hard sometimes, but sometimes it wasn’t and I did it right.”
