The Arkleston Singers - A New Creation
Paisley choir, The Arkleston Singers, is preparing for its annual concert on Friday 18th May at 7.30pm in Lylesland Church, 123 Rowan St, Paisley.
Over the past few years the Singers, whose members come from all over Renfrewshire, have introduced their audiences to a number of new works which have never previously been performed in the UK: this year is no different.
American composer René Clausen’s cantata ‘A New Creation’ will be given its European première alongside Gwyneth Walker’s fun arrangements of American folk songs called ‘The Morning Train’ but, as always, there will also be The Arkleston Singers’ usual mix of popular music from past and present. Last year’s excellent soloists Emily Mitchell and Andrew McTaggart return with The Arkleston Chamber Ensemble and accompanist Sheena Patrick and the concert will be led by Musical Director Ken Paterson.
Tickets are £8 and are available online from
