Weaver’s Cottage, Kilbarchan
The National Trust for Scotland’s Weaver’s Cottage, Kilbarchan, had its busiest ever Easter weekend with fifty visitors on Easter Sunday, many of whom were children participating in the Easter egg hunt. Maybe ‘staycationing’ was the reason. With current financial shortages a visit to the cottage costs about the same as going to the cinema, and the cottage has plenty inside and out to interest visitors of all ages. If you are having guests this summer, the cottage is a good place to visit. The weaver is currently weaving material for another NTS property at Greenbank, in Glasgow. Pictures
shows the warp on the warping frame, then being put onto the loom.
