PRODUCT INNOVATIONS Newadditions to Rfresh range
LINPAC Packaging has added to its range of sustainable trays for meat and fish products with the launch of Rfresh®
MB. The new
rPET trays contain up to 95 per cent food grade post-consumer recyclate, giving customers a wider choice of environmentally sound packaging options which do not compromise on tray performance. The food packaging company has created a tray which offers what they believe to be excellent barrier performance, ideally suited to poultry and fish products, helping retailers reduce food spoilage and waste by keeping food fresher for longer. A PP base film layer provides for stronger seal integrity and the tray can have either a lock seal or peelable film solution. According to LINPAC, the packaged foodstuffs are well protected due to the tray’s rigidity, ensuring that the product reaches the consumer in the best possible condition. Munters’ newPsychroApp
Most documents, metals, electronic goods and manufactured goods’ quality or operational life can be affected by uncontrolled humidity environments due to mould, corrosion and other factors. However, if produced and stored in low humidity climates, all products have a ‘comfort zone’ which secures greater operational output, quality and storage stability. Munters have launched their new free psychrometric calculation tool - PsychroApp. Specially designed for use on the iPhone, iPod Touch and also able to be run unmodified on the iPad, Munters say this new tool provides complete psychrometric calculations for relative humidity, dewpoint and more…all at the touch of a button. The company also say that there is no need for psychrometric charts as the PsychroApp can calculate the total, sensible, latent and moisture loads of any process or preservation environment. PsychroApp has been extensively field tested by Munters’ experienced application engineers to provide endless application calculation opportunities. Simply enter the temperature and relative humidity and PsychroApp will output the corresponding dewpoint or grams per kg/grains per pound, giving you the insight you need for your job.
