Halewood installMakro labeller With the continuing growth of the Halewood International brands, the company were in need of a new high speed modular labelling machine that could apply both wet glue and self adhesive labels to ROPP closure sparkling wine and cork and wire Champagne-style bottles in a variety of sizes including 75cl, 1 litre and 1.5 litre. While the majority of the existing filling line was retained, the old labeller was not able to cater for the exacting requirements needed to dress these iconic brands and after careful evaluation of the labelling machine market, Halewood International again opted for aMakro Labeller. In this instance, the modular labeller is equipped with three stations and comes with Plug and Play removable labelling stations for both wet glue and self-adhesive label dress. The newly installed machine will be dressing Halewood's Chaumet SparklingWine, Bucks Fizz, Lambrini Bubbly and standard Lambrini products with front, back and shoulder labels at speeds up to 14,000 B.P.H. For more information call 01283 712720 or visit www.makro-labelling.co.uk.

UPM’s TripleDecker

UPMConveyors have established preferred supplier status to Finlay’s Fresh Produce, the first suppliers of Fairtrade vegetables into the UK. Roger Broughton, group engineering manager, said that the company selected UPMdue to their ability to offer bespoke solutions to product handling in Kenya, where Finlay’s needed trouble free operation and zero maintenance. UPMwere able to offer a solution to Finlay’s application based on a triple decker belt conveyor. The conveyor allows four operators per side to transfer product from the lower conveyor to fill boxes on the middle conveyor. Empty boxes are then being transferred on the top roller conveyor at a rate of 2,000 kilos per hour. UPM say their philosophy is simple and based on working in partnership with people, sharing their knowledge and experience gained over thirty- seven years. For more information call 01753 548801, email royf@upm.co.uk or visit www.upm conveyors.co.uk.
