Keenpac is the proudwinner of Disney’s prestigious environmental award; “Most Sustainable Vendor, Europe 2011”. The awardwas presented at this year’s Annual Vendor PartnerMeeting held at the end of last year at Epcot Studios, Florida. The awards presentation is Disney’sway of giving special recognition to its top suppliers. Last year, Keenpacwas one of four companies to have been nominated for the award, giving recognition to itswork on the Disney packaging range,which is, says Keenpac, both sustainable and environmentally friendly. Demonstrating support
Arpac Europe is now providing full technical support and servicing for European installations, demonstrated by its recent servicing of machines at sites in Slovakia and Belgium for building supplies giant IKO. IKO installed Arpac’s BRANDPAC BPSW machine to shrink wrap large roofing shingles. This machine was chosen because it is a single roll, print registered film shrink bundler, specially designed for larger applications. Arpac’s machinery has the ability to handle the toughest construction and industrial products, which, says the company, is testament to the quality and robust build standards of all Arpac machinery. Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has reached a new environmental milestone by becoming the first company in the global food and beverage industry to achieve a new official standard that recognises energy management practices. CCE’s largest manufacturing site, Wakefield, GB, has been certified to the new international energy management standard, ISO 50001,
by SGS United Kingdom Ltd. ISO 50001, introduced in June of last year, aims to improve energy performance, reduce carbon emissions and create more energy efficient supply chains. To meet the ISO 50001 standard, organisations must not only establish an energy baseline and define energy goals, but also commit to ongoing monitoring and improvement.
