Go to PolarHusky.com and select Module 1 in Study Resources of Investigate in the Logistics section. Select the home page for the National Weather Service, Anchorage office.
1. Click the “Ice Desk” tab in the left-hand navigation.
2. Read the current Sea Ice Advisory. You will need to choose “more” to expand the information, locate and read it for the region that the team is in. (The advisory is divided into the various seas that form the coast of Alaska. Use the expedition route map on page 1 of the student page to identify which section to read.)

3. Return to the main “Ice Desk” landing page, again using the left-hand navigation.
At the top of the page in line one, click the link “Ice Map” to use Google Maps and KZM format.
This map shows the current sea ice conditions along Alaska’s coastline.
4. Find the approximate location of Team GoNorth! Use the zoom (+/-) and pan (click and drag) features of the map to explore the coastline ice conditions.
