ented adaptive passive technology, the Matrix AP harmonic filters are able to quickly adapt their impedance in response to changing electrical loads.


Compared to other passive filter de - signs that work for 100 percent loads, the Matrix AP maintains filtering per- formance over a wider load, including mitigating harmonic distortion at low loads. This special capability gives the filter family the distinction of being the most technically advanced passive filters on the market. The new 600V and 690V filters are available with a wide operating temperature range of –40 to +50°C. Especially suitable for use on the power input of VFDs and other 6-pulse drives, the Matrix AP fil- ters help customers meet IEEE-519 requirements for harmonic distortion, regardless of power load. In addition, the new models are compatible with generator systems and use up to 83 percent fewer capacitors than previous generation Matrix filters. Moreover, MTE has eliminated the usage of resistors, resulting in less heat gener- ation, removing the need for fans. The product also provides a host of capac- itor contactor options to meet specif- ic power applications, including dis- connection of the filter capacitor bank, adjustable pick-up and drop- out and filter bypass. The 600V and 690V Ma trix AP harmonic filters are available now in open panel. In addi- tion, the 600V is also available in NEMA 1/2 and NEMA 3R configura- tions. UL and cUL Listed, the filters

Intepro Loads Simplify Battery Testing


Tustin, CA — The new EL97xx series of electronic loads available now from Intepro Systems offers users a simple means to test or characterize individual battery cells or multi-cell stacks. Models are available with power ratings from 150 to 6,000W for use as simple front panel controlled bench test or repair instruments to components in complex, automated test and burn-in systems. Applications include repair of


power supplies and equipment through to testing batteries used for high reliability UPS and data-pro- tection systems. Comprehensive battery testing


can identify individual faulty cells allowing battery stacks to be rebuilt, reducing waste and recycling while improving reliability. Battery manu- facturers can use the Intepro EL97xx series of electronic loads to character- ize the performance of new designs, establish life expectancy and for pro- duction test. Automated testing pro- vides repeatability and offers storage of test data for quality control, analy- sis and traceability. Test results may be fully interrogated and exported as spreadsheets or Word documents into an SQL database. All Intepro EL97xx electronic


loads are supplied with comprehen- sive free software to simplify set-up and testing of batteries. Dynamic burn-in and discharge tests with user control of waveform may be simply performed with all test parameters available for user setting, live data is shown on a virtual control panel and a clear “capacity plot” is displayed. The user can add more markers by using the icons on the tool bar to set a visu- al indicator to show the expected per- formance range. As well as being a standalone instrument the EL97xx electronic load is also designed for easy integration into larger automat- ed test systems and may be controlled by the company’s open-source Power - Star software suite.
