Page 41 Oven Industries Releases TE Controller
Mechanicsburg, PA — Newly introduced by Oven Industries, Inc., its open board temperature con- troller is specifically designed with a proportional integral control algorithm to provide the most pre- cise control to thermoelectric (Peltier effect) mod- ules at the most economical price. The H bridge control provides a seamless
transition between heating and cooling, eliminat- ing dead spots. A red LED for heat and green LED for cooling indicate mode. Pulse Width Modulation controls the power level in the thermoelectric mod- ule at a base frequency of 900Hz. Power resolution is one of ±255 steps in the load circuit control. The control circuit includes: solid-state H-
bridge control; bi-directional control (seamless transition); red LED heating mode; green LED cooling mode; proportional integral control algo- rithm; pulse width modulated output; TTL to USB communication via optional OI-TTL-Cable; sup- port and digital control through in- cluded GUI and DLL. Accessories include: DISP-573
remote LED display; and 5R7-573A remote set potentiometers. Sensor family includes: TR67 (15K @ 25°C) ±1°C, –20 to 100°C; TR136 (15K @ 25°C) ±0.1°C, –20 to 100°C; TR91 (10K @ 25°C) ±1°C, –40 to 150°C; TR104 (50K @ 25°C) ±1°C, 0 to 150°C;
Quantum Silicones: Intros New Potting
Compound
Richmond VA — Quantum Silicones has developed its latest UL recog- nized component for electronic pot- ting and LED encapsulation, its Sili- cone Elastomer QSil 553LV. The new product incorporates valuable prop- erties for heat dissipation and is UL 94 V-0 listed. The new silicone rubber has
been designed to benefit electronic potting applications, such as power supplies, LED, circuit and electronic modules. Its physical properties en- able this material to withstand ex- treme temperatures, protect sensi- tive components from moisture and debris, while being readily re- pairable. The new compound has a low
viscosity, allowing convenient dis- pensing and an easy flow throughout complex parts. The compound will cure in closed environments, and will not outgas or produce any byproducts since it is 100 percent silicone solids, containing no solvents. Its long work life of 100 minutes will also allow time for air bubbles, which may be entrapped during dispensing, to dis- sipate.
Electronic components often ex-
perience thermal expansion during temperature increase or collapse at decreased temperatures. To minimize CTE strain, QSil
553LV is a low modulus material, providing excellent flexibility as well as shock and vibration resistance. It will maintain its physical properties between the temperatures of –55 up
to +240°C. Contact: Quantum Silicones
