New Low Pressure Technomelt Molding Materials from Henkel
Irvine, CA — Henkel has introduced three new advanced Technomelt formulations that address some of today’s most demanding encapsulation requirements — Technomelt PA 668, Technomelt AS 4226 and a chemical-resistant Technomelt. A viable and streamlined alternative to tradi-
tional potting processes, Technomelt low pressure molding materials deliver ease-of-use, fast cure times, single-material processing and the ability to accommodate sensitive components and circuitry. Technomelt PA 668 is a UV-stabilized white mold- ing material that has been engineered to be esthet- ically aligned with consumer and industrial prod- uct designs, while offering superior molding and color integrity performance. The UV and thermal stability of Technomelt H
PA 668 make it extremely versatile. Resistance to UV light, as well as temperature resistance in- process and in-use, Technomelt PA 668 maintains its color even when subjected to harsh external environ- ments, longer molding dwell times and extended thermal and ultra-vio- let light exposure after encapsula- tion. For use with applications that require optical clarity, a transparent Technomelt material enables high transmittance of optical signals.
Yamaichi Intros 2nd Gen Y-Lock Connectors
Munich, Germany — The Y-Lock® brand has been a well-known product for board-to-cable connections since 2008 and has proved very successful in a wide variety of applications, such as in the automotive sector. The non-ZIF-based connector
system is especially outstanding for its locking system, which works without opening or closing a flap or drawer and without actuating an unlocking mechanism.
Used for a variety of sensors in the industrial, con- sumer, automotive and lighting sectors, Technomelt AS 4226 allows manufacturers to
leverage the performance enabled by this ultra- clear material while also being assured of UV sta- bility and long-term color consistency. Rounding out the trio of new hotmelt molding
materials is a special Technomelt product which offers chemical resistance for devices that are exposed to various chemicals including solvents, acids, engine fluids, soaps and alkalines, among oth- ers. Low-pressure molding speed is exceptionally fast and, like all Technomelt materials, this formu- lation provides freedom of design, streamlined pro- cessing with housing construction and product seal-
ing in a single step, and very little material waste. Contact: Henkel Corp., 14000 Jamboree Rd.,

At Hitachi, we’re constantly innovating and improving modular placement technology. That’s why the Hitachi system you bought yesterday will be performance-competitive tomorrow.
Our new Sigma G5S is a good example. It’s faster and more capable than our world-leading Sigma G5, and with nearly double the accuracy. Its two-head place- ment system, plus our unique Overdrive Control System, enables unparalleled flexibility and configurability in addition to high speed.
The G5S also offers our incredible new LED placement via die recognition technology for optimum lighting performance from every LED assembly. Its Multi-function head now offers Lead-clinching as well as Tamping.
New Y-lock connectors. In Generation 2, an additional
plastic stiffener has been added that is mechanically assembled with the FFC. The stiffener then engages with the connector. This new system makes guiding the FFC and insert- ing the FFC into the connector more convenient. The pull-out force for the FFC has also been increased from about 10N to about 25N. Another advantage of the Y-
Lock series is the greatest possible security of the contact coverage between FFC pads and connector. The new generation facilitates even more the FFC guiding by the stiffen- er which positions the FFC. That makes it simply impossible for the FFC to be crooked, hence, no danger
of a lack of contact coverage. Contact: Yamaichi Electronics
