Marketing & Apps Technology Carlsbad, CA, —Nordson ASYMTEK, a Nordson company (NASDAQ: NDSN), has appointed Mr. Chris Marion as director of Marketing and Applications Technology. He will manage all global marketing activities, including a new- ly expanded marketing group consisting of product management, marketing communications, market and business analysis, market management, and training development in addition to the applications technology group, which provides pre-sales support and partners with Marketing to specify and vali- date new products, and develops new applications. The scope of the global marketing team also includes commercial management of customized engi- neered solutions, which will link applications’ expertise to expansion into new markets. of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Northeast Utilities, where he held responsibility for corporate R&D as well as for business plan- ning and strategic M&A transactions. In that position, Mr. Simon had a ma- jor role in over $2.5 billion of transactions, was the head of corporate venture investing, and was a member of the senior management committee. Previous- ly, Mr. Simon had been Senior Director and head of the Global Power Practice for Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) for nine years, where he provided advice on the future directions of the energy industry and the sources of strategic advantage, including the emergence of new power tech- nologies. He is also Chairman, Capstone Turbine Corporation and serves as a board member of two nonprofit organizations: SmartPower and the Sacra- mento Area Regional Technology Alliance.
