Based in a unique cave hotel we explore the beautiful region of Cappadocia on foot. Soft volcanic rock has been eroded over many centuries to form this distinctive landscape. Walking along trails through this striking terrain, we discover the famous cone-shaped ‘fairy chimneys’, rock-cut churches and Uchisar ‘Castle’. We also explore the spectacular underground city of Kaymakli, visit traditional villages and experience local life.


8 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Transfer from Kayseri airport to Ihlara Valley Day 2 Ihlara Valley Hike from Ihlara to Selime via Belisirma. Explore the valley famous for its caves and rock-cut churches painted with religious frescoes by Byzantine priests. Day 3 Underground City and Zemi Valley Explore the ancient underground city of Kaymakli. Make a circular walk through the Zemi Valley through local farming areas. Day 4 Uchisar Castle Walk through the ‘fairy chimneys’ of Akyadi Valley to Uchisar. Visit the

‘Castle’. Return to Goreme along Pigeon Valley. Visit a traditional tea house and learn how to make Turkish tea and coffee. Day 5 Mustafapasa village and Goreme Open Air Museum Walk to the ancient Greek village of Mustafapasa. Visit Goreme Open Air Museum, where rock cut houses, churches with ancient frescoes and more ‘fairy chimneys’. Opportunity to learn how to cook a local dish. Day 6 Bozdag and Avanos Walk from Cavusin to Bozdag (350m). Visit Avanos, famous for its pottery, and
