Cappadocia, Taurus & Ararat Trek BKA A challenging trek in the Taurus Mountains and to the summit of Mount Ararat
From the fairy chimney rock formations of Cappadocia to the snow-covered peak of Mount Ararat, we trek across some of Turkey’s most magnifi cent landscapes. We hike through the Taurus Mountains to the summit of Mount Embler (3723m) and climb to the top of Mount Ararat (5137m). En route we also experience nomad and mountain village life, visit elegant mosques in eastern Anatolia and explore Byzantine architecture in Istanbul.
15 day tour itinerary
Day 1 Join tour Goreme. Days 2/3 Cappadocia Walk among the unusual rock formations and cave houses. We enjoy a panoramic view of the area from Uchisar ‘Castle’ and visit the 5th century basilica in Cavusin. Travel to the Aladag Mountains and climb to the campsite in the Maden Valley (1900m). Days 4/7 Mountain Trek Trek in the high valleys of the Taurus Mountains via the ‘Seven Lakes’. Stop at a series of campsites on the way to the summit

Trekking Details: This tour includes 9 days trekking with an average of 5-6 hours of walking a day, with a maximum of around 9 hours. We reach a maximum altitude of 5137m with ascents of up to 1100m.
