Discover the remarkable string of Cathar castles on this walking tour in France.Trekking through the Ariège and Aude regions we pass pretty villages nestling in the shadows of dramatic castles. We also walk through impressive gorges and visit vineyards along the way.


8 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour at Toulouse airport and drive to Ax-Les-Thermes. Day 2 Montaillou Walk through this historic Cathar village en route to Belcaire. Day 3 Puivert Walk to Puivert and visit the Château de Troubadours in this charming town. Day 4 Sougraigne Walk to Sougraigne stopping at the market town of Rennes le Château and the spa town of Rennes les Bains.

Day 3: 7hrs Belcaire


Day 5 Corbieres Walk to Corbieres sur Cinoble where we enjoy views of the Pyrenees. Day 6 Duilhac Drive to the Gorges de Galamus and hike to Château de Peyrepertuse. Walk down to Duilhac. Day 7 Château de Quéribus A short walk from Duilhac before enjoying a wine tasting at Maury Caves and visit to one of the best preserved castles in the region, perched on a

needle of rock. Drive to Carcassonne Day 8 Carcassonne Enjoy a walking tour in this medieval city before taking the train to Toulouse airport where the tour ends.
