Beautiful cities, rolling hills and fi ne wines are all part of this walking holiday in Tuscany. We stay in the heart of Chianti and enjoy walks through sun- drenched vineyards. We also explore the historic cities of Florence and Siena, visit the medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano and sample the delicious local wine.
8 day tour itinerary
Day 1 Join tour at Pisa airport and drive to Castellina in Chianti, a charming medieval hilltop town. Day 2 Winelands Walk through the forests, vineyards and Chianti villages of the Greve area where ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ was fi lmed. Day 3 San Gimignano Walk countryside trails and see the magnifi cent sight of thirteen medieval towers, perched majestically on a hilltop. Explore the town of San Gimignano. Day 4 Siena Explore the beautiful city. Visit the famous Piazza del Campo, home to the Palio horserace and wander the maze of narrow streets.

Day 5 Chianti Walk through vineyards and Tuscan villages. Optional wine tasting tour. Day 6 Florence Spiritual home of the Renaissance, the city is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Italy. Explore the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio. Day 7 Tuscan countryside Walk through Castellina Forest and across rolling hills with distant views of the towers of San Gimignano and Siena. Day 8 Tour ends Pisa airport.

In the heart of Chianti
Salivolpi is an old country house recently converted into a hotel located on the outskirts of Castellina in Chianti - a charming, Tuscan hill top medieval village. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees, it has a wonderful view over the Elsa Valley. Bedrooms are furnished in a rustic Tuscan style and the large garden has a swimming pool.
