AlInGaP LEDs Are Dominant in Malaysia


Malaysian firm Dominant is introducing its Power DomiLED series DWx-PJG and DWx-PKG which offer a longer lifetime and higher brightness in a PLCC4 package.


Dominant has unveiled its new high brightness AlInGaP devices with extended lifetime - the Power DomiLED series DWx-PJG and DWx-PKG.


These are alternatives to the existing AlInGaP DWx devices completing their product portfolio of medium power LEDs. The new DWx-PKG series is resistant to sulfur corrosion.


With an operating current of 50mA, this LED features a luminous intensity of 2,600mcd, 7.2 lm (typical) for red; 3,000mcd, 8.0lm (typical) for amber and 3,200mcd, 8.5lm (typical) for yellow.

Emcore Honored with Supplier Excellence Award by Space Systems/Loral


The award was presented for Emcore’s performance in supplying high-Efficiency multi- junction solar cells for powering SS/L’s satellite missions.


Emcore Corporation, a major provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the fiber optic and solar power markets, has received a Supplier Excellence Award from Space Systems Loral (SS/L).


Emcore has been a supplier to SS/L for the past 12 years and is presently under a long-term supply agreement contract to manufacture and deliver high-efficiency, multi-junction solar cells for SS/L’s satellite programs. The production of the solar cells under this contract takes place at Emcore’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.A.


The new AlInGaP high brightness Power DomiLEDs provide an outstanding long product lifetime due to their silicone encapsulation and a low thermal resistance of the housing, turning them into the most durable Dominant products in PLCC-4 packages with the dimensions of 3.2(L) x 2.8 (W) x 1.6(H) mm).


These new devices are a perfect fit for various illumination applications with limited space such as channel lighting and signage. They also fulfill the stringent requirements of the automotive exterior lighting industry.
