the trolley. Red seals indicate the hot compartment, while blue seals identify the cold section, helping staff immediately identify where trays should be placed. While simple, this visual

system significantly reduces the risk of loading errors during busy meal service periods. Another practical feature is the status lighting system. “If you walk into a room full of trolleys, you can immediately see which ones are operating normally and which ones may require attention,” explains Triolo. The trolleys also feature

intuitive touch control screens that allow operators to check temperatures and monitor cycles easily. The interface uses clear visual icons, making it accessible even to users with limited technical experience. One of the most significant

innovations in the BSmart Class-e system is its integration with Burlodge’s IQ-Control 2.0 app, a 2.0 digital management platform. Using Bluetooth connectivity,

authorized staff can connect to the trolley via a mobile device to monitor performance, check temperatures or adjust settings in real time.

“Here at CRF COS Divio

we particularly appreciate the traceability the system provides,”

Carlot explains. “All information is stored for two months, and we can monitor the operating status of the shuttles in real time.” The system records operational data such as temperature history and alarms, helping facilities maintain compliance with food safety standards while identifying potential issues before they affect service.

Operational flexibility Healthcare facilities must often adapt their service models as patient needs evolve. The BSmart Class-e system provides that

flexibility through configurable operating settings. “When we first opened, we

operated with hot chain service at lunch and cold chain service in the evening and on weekends,” Carlot explains. “Later we switched to an

exclusive cold chain system. The cart settings were adjusted accordingly, and no difficulties were encountered.” For Burlodge, installations such as the CRF COS Divio project demonstrate the growing impact of the Class-e range within healthcare catering. “The Divio Functional Rehabilitation Centre is an excellent example of what has been happening in the French market since the launch of our Class-e ranges,” says Philippe Milon, director general of Burlodge. “The benefits of a Burlodge

Class-e trolley lie in its strong added value in terms of ergonomics, ease of use, reliability and temperature security.” For the Rehabilitation Centre,

developed a partnership based on trust,” says Carlot. “From the very beginning, our needs

As healthcare facilities continue to modernize their operations, systems such as the BSmart Class-e show how thoughtful design and smart technology can improve everyday processes, helping caregivers focus on what matters most: patient recovery and wellbeing.
