The laundry equipment is Wi-Fi-connected, so data from every laundry cycle goes to the central hub in Italy

before the next service is due, helping to support proactive maintenance planning. “Most machines would use maximum level of detergent and the longest spin cycle, so use the maximum amount of energy,” Philip adds. “We’ve worked with other brands before, and the number of after-sales repairs and parts was much less with GILE, so there are big cost savings in the long run. We’ve not had to change any mechanical parts in any of our projects so far, but we are here on the island with after-sales technical support if it is necessary.” That support is crucial. Buying equipment from a

supplier in Italy rather than a closer source seems inefficient initially, but remote monitoring capability and high-quality manufacturing mean distance is no longer a barrier. All equipment is Wi-Fi-connected, with data from every laundry cycle sent to a central hub in Italy, where each machine’s performance is monitored and analyzed. Potential issues can be identified early, enabling predictive maintenance that minimizes downtime, keeping repair costs to a minimum.

“Even to clients on a small island with no industrial infrastructure we can sell hi-tech machines that can be managed remotely”

Gabriele Giotto GILE

Dealers have peace of mind that GILE can support them

and manage the equipment. For example, staff can use the touchscreen to adjust many operational parameters and change the set-up of the machine, but if this results in sub- optimal performance due to a lack of technical skills on the part of the operator, then mistakes can be corrected remotely. “They are on the other side of the world, but we can still manage everything they need,” says Gabriele Giotto, GILE’s sales and product manager. “Even to clients on a small island with no industrial infrastructure we can still sell high-tech machines that can be managed remotely — even if they are seven hours and thousands of kilometers away from us.” The guests and the management at East Winds have

high expectations, but so do GILE and Philip. This is a partnership that works to perfection. “We are very happy,” says Calixte. “There are cost savings in terms of efficiency, better quality of the end product, and our linen has a longer lifespan as there is less wear and tear. We can’t go wrong.”
