and development in technology, much of the company’s equipment has evolved for broader foodservice applications, including hot water dispensers now used in tasks such as pizza dough preparation. This approach reflects the company’s spirit of

beverage landscape and has changed the customer experience by supporting the full beverage program lifecycle, with a team equipped to guide customers from initial concept through daily execution and long- term growth. A culture of innovation The Bunn family founded its original business in 1840 when Jacob Bunn opened a grocery store in Springfield, Illinois, and a young Abraham Lincoln was one of the first customers, later to become the family’s legal advisor. The venture grew into Bunn Capitol Wholesale

Grocery Company and was later managed by George R. Bunn who founded the beverage equipment division in the late 1950s. Bunn-O-Matic Corporation was officially incorporated as a separate entity in 1963, and since that time has been at the forefront of beverage

dispensing equipment. Whether it’s equipment for the most demanding commercial settings or the perfect cup at home, the team at BUNN has always started with what’s in the cup — understanding what consumers expect from the experience to deliver quality and purpose to the highest standard for every serving occasion. BUNN has built a legacy of advancement that spans decades, from the 1950s to today.

Spanning decades, these highlights showcase a

selection of notable innovations, reflecting BUNN’s ongoing commitment to quality, consistency and ever- changing needs to those they serve. It began with the development of the world’s first flat-bottom coffee filter in the 1950s, improving coffee extraction and setting the foundation for everything that followed. The 1960s brought a pour-over commercial brewer that became foundational to the Office Coffee Service business model, pairing equipment with coffee programs in workplaces across the country. In the 1970s, BUNN expanded into home coffee makers, while also expanding beyond coffee with a commercial tea brewer, improving the quality and consistency of freshly brewed tea. The 1980s advanced hot water dispensing systems

to support a wider range of foodservice applications, while the 1990s marked a pivotal shift toward digital technology, introducing brewing controls for greater consistency alongside an expansion into frozen dispensed beverage systems. The 2000s broadened BUNN’s reach further, adding juice dispensing and machine-to-machine RFID communication between grinders and brewers for improved accuracy, alongside continued advancements in coffee

BUNN provides traditional café equipment, such as coffee brewers, alongside hot and cold dispensed beverage systems
