EMERALD POLISHED FOR ENHANCED CONTROL

Black Box BY DAVID FOX

The Emerald IP-based control system has new features to streamline control room operations, support virtual and hybrid workfl ows, and simplify system integration. Also on show are upgraded multiviewer capabilities and the new Emerald remote app.

The Emerald Deskvue receiver now supports direct connection of up to four multiview displays. Operators can also extend their workspace to larger video walls by deploying additional Deskvue units. Deskvue itself supports display arrays with up to 28 monitors, with display edge compensation for a clean, continuous image across the wall. The Emerald system now makes

it easier to integrate virtual machines with dual-head (two- channel) video output. Operators can control and monitor both channels using any Emerald PE or Deskvue-powered console. Deskvue users can also open web pages directly from the Emerald IP connection rather than connect to a separate computer source. This streamlines access to dashboards, monitoring tools and control interfaces directly from the KVM console. The remote app is claimed to be “the industry’s fi rst software-based KVM receiver for macOS”. It offers full-featured access to multiple physical or virtual systems without needing external hardware, and ensures instant, secure connectivity from anywhere, with support for multiple displays and centralised authentication. 10.A27

By verifying authenticity, C2PA-enabled workfl ows help safeguard against misinformation

Dalet BY KIRSTY HAZLEWOOD

Media workfl ow developer Dalet is demonstrating how its new intelligent AI agents can speed up story-centric workfl ows across planning, production, rundowns and distribution. Journalists can use mobile planning to stay connected wherever news breaks, and C2PA-enabled workfl ows can verify content authenticity to build and maintain audience trust. A new browser-based ingest portal aims to centralise and simplify sports and live content acquisition at scale, whether it is in the cloud, on-premises or hybrid. Also on show are improved near-live production tools, archive management and workfl ow orchestration, as well as smart metadata tagging to

automate the enrichment of content.

The new Secure Share feature on Dalet Flex enables secure external fi le transfers and content reviews, allowing teams to collaborate beyond organisational boundaries while maintaining full control. Also new are AI indexing and semantic search to unlock deeper value from archives.

Santiago Solanas, CEO, Dalet, said: “In an era where attention is fragmented and meaning feels elusive, we believe the role of media, and those who support it, has never been more important. “We’re helping our customers empower creators and journalists with better tools, connect with the next generation of audiences, and deliver content with clarity, authenticity and impact.” 7.A43

STREAMING WITHOUT THE STRINGS Magewell

BY KIRSTY HAZLEWOOD

Pro Convert IP to USB hardware from Magewell allows users to bring an NDI, NDI HX or streaming sources into video conferencing and other software platforms via a USB interface. Software without native NDI integration may support the technology through NDI Tools utilities, but stringent IT

restrictions in many environments often preclude the installation of such add-ons. The Pro Convert IP to USB overcomes this issue by converting the NDI source into a USB output that software sees as easily as a webcam. In addition to NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX2 and NDI HX3, Pro Convert IP to USB also supports H.264 or H.265 source streams in protocols including SRT, RTMP, RTSP, RTP, UDP and HTTP.

It decodes IP video sources up to 1920×1080 resolution (with two audio channels), delivering uncompressed video at up to 60fps, or M-JPEG-compressed video at 30fps.

The UVC-compliant device

offers driver-free installation and immediate compatibility with a wide range of video conferencing (including Zoom and Microsoft Teams), streaming and production software on Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.

The compact form factor is USB- powered, requiring no external power supply. 7.A26
