ENHANCING LIVE SOCIAL MEDIA COVERAGE WITH LUCIDLINK
To fi nd out how quickly live social media content can be turned around with the help of AI and collaborative storage, head to the IBC Showcase Theatre in Hall 8 this afternoon. On stage, Richard Yu, Chief Product Offi cer at LucidLink, and Frederic Petitpont, CTO and Co-founder of Moments Lab, will discuss how a combination of LucidLink’s real-time collaboration tools and Moments Lab’s AI tools allowed leading European social media outlet Brut Media, an offi cial media partner of the Cannes Film Festival, to deliver live coverage from the 78th edition red carpet in May 2025. Brut’s teams across Paris, New York and New Delhi were able to quickly access live footage, identify key moments and produce engaging content for audiences around the world. The outlet used the combination of LucidLink and Moments Lab to generate huge amounts of rapid turnaround content, making it possible for them to deliver real-time footage from an event that might previously have been out of reach from a technology perspective to short-form video creators for social media, according to Rupert Watson, Senior Director of Sales, EMEA at LucidLink. “From a social media news perspective, time to market is crucial, you have to be the fi rst one into people’s feed,” says Watson. “People tend to follow a story with whoever they see fi rst on their feed and nowadays, viewers won’t necessarily watch linear news, they often consume content on whichever social media platform they enjoy. If you’re able to turn content around swiftly and compellingly, you capture the eyeballs for that entire news cycle.” This marks a signifi cant change in Brut’s cadence in terms of turnaround, adds Watson. “Obviously, covering a red carpet is more in the moment than talking about general news in a studio,” he says. “Our combined technologies gave Brut instant access to content across geographical locations, enhancing workfl ows and reducing costs.”
Commenting on this watershed moment, Guillaume Lacroix, CEO and Co-founder of Brut, said that with Moments Lab’s MXT-2 and LucidLink’s seamless access, his team was able to work across time zones and borders without missing a beat. “Covering Cannes means capturing magic as it happens and getting it in front of our audience instantly,” he says. During today’s Showcase Theatre session, Watson also expects people to discover how

much acceleration is possible with the cloud. “Traditionally, the cloud hasn’t been seen as a real-time tool, but we can inject speed and effi ciency, and therefore money into your workfl ow where previously you may not have thought it existed,” he says.
“The other piece that we’d like to emphasise is that clearly, AI is going to play an increasingly important role in all of these activities, be it acquisition or post-production or distribution, and everything in between.”

Moments Lab’s most advanced AI model to date delivers video understanding at scale by generating rich, time-coded natural language descriptions of footage. With new features like Custom Moments and Custom Insights, MXT-2 enables teams to instantly identify compelling scenes, classify themes and generate editorial content from editorial video. The AI has been trained on over 1.5 billion images. LucidLink’s latest platform introduces enterprise-ready features including a mobile app for iOS and Android, web-based fi le browsing, dynamic tiering for storage
management, and integration with AWS S3. These enhancements provide creative teams with instant, secure access to large media fi les from anywhere, eliminating the need for downloads or fi le syncing. “Because of the nature of our platform, once the data is in LucidLink, it’s already everywhere,” says Watson. “Ultimately, we want to build partnerships with companies like Moments Lab to expand media workfl ows and increase velocity and profi tability. We are an open, integrated ecosystem that enables customers to get the best of both the cloud and the on-premise worlds, we eliminate the tension between the two. You no longer have to choose, those working in the cloud and those working on the ground are working off the same shared storage, so there is no operational penalty. We’re a fantastic tool upon which to build your AI strategy.”
LucidLink is holding daily Power Hours on stand 6.A12 for the fi rst hour of the show today and tomorrow, with free coffee and croissants. A happy hour will also take place today during for the last hour of the show. These are open to all IBC visitors.
