SYNC UP FOR REAL-TIME PRODUCTION Bridge Technologies BY KIRSTY HAZLEWOOD

The AV Sync Generator toolset, part of Bridge’s wider VB440 production probe, has been enhanced with frame-accurate audio and video synchronisation, as well as support for ancillary data sync. This provides alignment of metadata such as captions, timecode and signalling, ensuring consistent video length, accurate in/out points and precise triggering across complex workfl ows.

HDR-compatible colour bars have also been added, giving users a visual aid when managing production workfl ows. The VB440’s AV sync works by embedding machine-readable electronic markers into audio signals. A built-in sync client visualises, in real time, the delta between video and an unlimited

number of audio channels or groups, including immersive formats. Operators gain immediate insight into alignment and can correct errors swiftly and accurately. Visualisation tools such as rolling shutter simulation, blink-and-beep reference cues, and now HDR colour bars enhance usability and confi dence. Running entirely within a browser- based HTML5 interface, the VB440 allows multiple remote users to access and monitor AV sync data without specialist training or localised setup. With ancillary data support, the tool can help every member of the production team, from video and audio engineers to those managing captions and metadata, maintain workfl ow precision. Beyond live monitoring, the VB440 also allows for third-party integration via API. 1.A71

DARK MAKES LIGHT WORK OF AUDIO MANAGEMENT

Glensound BY KEVIN EMMOTT

Designed to be used as throwdown interfaces wherever microphones or line inputs are required, Glensound has introduced the two-input Dark2MAI and the four-input Dark4MAI. Both units use the same circuitry as the rest of the Dark range and have dual redundant internet connections over fi bre or copper. While they can be locally powered, Glensound says many applications will utilise PoE, suffi cient to provide 48V phantom power for condenser microphones.

Also new in the Dark family is the Dark22M, a compact two in, two out device. With the same audio quality, network fl exibility and power agility as the rest of the range, the Dark22M adds return or confi dence feeds and the ability to mix and provide gain control on the device to tune performance to any situation. Like all Dark devices, it can be controlled over the network using the GlenController Windows app, or by any suitable device controller using UDP.

IBC will also see demonstrations

across the Glensound range, including PBS, the company’s take on audio for parliaments. 8.F72

CRESCENDO HITS 16-CHANNEL HIGH MultiDyne BY DAVID FOX

The Crescendo Series is a new generation of high-performance audio and signal processing tools for embedded audio monitoring. They include the enhanced C16-AM-12G, a 1RU model supporting 12G, 6G, 3G and HD-SDI, and delivering 16-channel audio monitoring with clarity and precision.

The base unit comes with 12G-SDI, with optional add-ons

for either Dante or ST 2110-30 for audio-over-IP workfl ows. It accommodates a wide array of input sources, including SDI loop- outs, analogue differential inputs and network ports via RJ45 or SFP. For output, it has L+R+C internal speakers, XLR, headphone and Bluetooth connectivity, 3.5mm

jack and USB port. It also features a dual front display for real-time audio parameters, plus HDMI output for SDI video previews. The series comes with redundant power supplies and expanded Ross Dashboard integration. There are also updates to the VersaBrix signal transport range,

which now offers HDMI 2.0 support, 1/10GbE with PoE+, and a sleek white enclosure for medical and on-camera environments. VersaBrix is rugged and works smoothly with CCUs, routers and switchers using standard fi bre or SMPTE hybrid cable. 11.C12
