CUTTING THROUGH THE CHATTER WITH MEDIASCOUTING OSINT DataScouting BY KEVIN EMMOTT

Designed to support government communications and compliance, and to enable intelligence and security departments to identify content of interest across multiple media types, DataScouting is introducing MediaScouting OSINT. This end-to-end, open-source media intelligence platform turns data into actionable information. Using AI to collect and analyse data from multiple channels,

including TV, IP streams, online, social and dark web, it provides users with the ability to react to emerging threats in real time. The platform’s analytical and reporting tools include a dashboard where users can fi nd content and visualise trends, export data, edit video clips and generate comprehensive reports. It features automatic speech recognition in 42 languages, face and logo recognition, news ticker extraction, entity recognition, automatic machine translation, sentiment analysis, hate speech

The platform presents information in an intuitive dashboard

detection and large language models for summarisation and data interactivity.

DataScouting says it can provide customisable workfl ow

optimisations, training, 24/7 support and secure installation options, including on-premise, cloud or hybrid setups. 7.P17

PERFECTLY PERFORATED AND STABILISED SCANNING

Digital Film Technology BY KEVIN EMMOTT

Delivering a straightforward way to scan badly damaged fi lms, software version 1.11 has been unveiled for Digital Film Technology’s (DFT) Polar HQ native 8K fi lm scanner. The update introduces functions including the advanced optical perforation detection of poorly preserved – or even non-existent – perforation holes, and the stabilisation of scanned images. Designed to restore historical

fi lms to their original glory, DFT is also showcasing its WetGate for the DFT Polar HQ. WetGate technology allows users to scan

fi lms with scratches, dirt and other defects, and compensate for these artifacts at the very beginning of the restoration process. The German fi lm scanning specialist says WetGate technology reproduces the content as it was originally captured on fi lm, without any changes and without introducing any additional pixels created by interpolation or software algorithms. With no subsequent work steps, rendering times, manual corrections or visual QC required, a WetGate scan can also deliver signifi cant time savings. 6.A16

MODULAR CARDS OPEN GATE TO IP

MultiDyne BY DAVID FOX

The MDoG series from Multidyne offers two modular openGear cards that promise stronger bridges between the SDI and IP worlds. The series offers SMPTE ST 2110 network interface and low-latency JPEG XS codec modules to effi ciently manage uncompressed and compressed signals as they move between legacy systems and IP networks, with full redundancy to optimise performance. Both cards offer multichannel and bidirectional conversion between SDI and ST 2110.

WetGate technology compensates for defects at the beginning of the restoration process

The MDoG-6060 ST 2110 IP gateways are available in multiple I/O confi gurations for 3G-SDI (3x3, 6x2 and 2x6) and 12G SDI (1x1, 2x0 and 0x2) systems. Each confi guration offers two 25GB network interfaces to support redundant transport streams. Each channel within the gateway can process one video, 16 audio and one ANC data

fl ow, and SDI signals are frame- synced within the module. The MDoG-6061 JPEG-XS codec module addresses the need for high-density signal transport in modern workfl ows where uncompressed transport isn’t yet a reality. The MDoG-6061 JPEG-XS encoders and devices support low-latency compression or decompression of up to two channels of 12G-SDI, with the added benefi t of ST 2022-7 redundancy over dual 10GB network interfaces. 11.C12
