MORE MOJO FOR MOJA TV Appear

The Appear X Platform has been selected by BH Telecom to enhance the live channel processing software for its Moja TV service. The project encompasses the
provision and integration of an advanced IPTV transcoding and multiplexing platform that is designed to handle 270 HD channels, utilising H.264/MPEG4
61 Appear’s X Platform enhances Moja TV service across Bosnia and Herzegovina
and H265/HEVC codecs, in addition to fi ve UHD channels with H265/HEVC encoders. Capable of supporting 500 television and radio services, the X Platform offers a signifi cant reduction in the number of rack units (RU) needed, reducing the requirement to just 10 RU for the whole platform.

The new Indigo ST 2110 openGear gateway card from Cobalt Digital offers bidirectional 12G, four channels HD (up to 1080p60). It includes support for ST 2022-7 seamless redundancy switching, as well as IS 04/05 NMOS for automatic discovery and confi guration. Berend Blokzijl, Director of Sales, EMEA, Cobalt Digital, said: “It’s an affordable way of doing SDI- to-2110 or 2110-to-SDI. It’s ideal for customers who don’t need any processing, just conversion.”
Cobalt Digital has higher-end cards that include processing. Also new is the Aria 12G Dante embedder/de-embedder. This four-channel openGear card can take in MADI and output Dante, or vice versa. “It is also much more affordable than our existing Dante cards that do much more,” he added. There is also a new four-channel version of Cobalt’s Sapphire line of converters, going between ST 2110 and HDMI (in either direction), while users of its 9992 encoder can now add its ST 2110 daughter card to it, so it can integrate with 2110 workfl ows. 10.B41

TV software provider Simplestream is demonstrating new features and enhancements to its Channel Studio and Livestream Scheduler products, designed to enable broadcasters, sports organisations and content owners to create new avenues for monetisation, greater audience engagement and increased live viewing fi gures. The company is also highlighting its technology partnership with Freely, the
onto the Freely platform, run by Everyone TV. Simplestream says Channel Studio was built to create and distribute live linear channels and now has the capability to allow operators to combine VOD assets and live streams as part of the same playlist, scheduled for distribution across multiple platforms.
