SMALLEST REMOTE SWITCHER PREVIEWED BHV/L2Tek BY DAVID FOX

BHV is previewing Camera SportsBox, which it claims will be “the industry’s smallest remote switcher”, able to transmit four camera signals down a single video path using 5G, COFDM. The compact switcher and

format processor is designed to integrate in vehicles for multicamera productions such as motor races, competitive sailing or aerial racing. Bill Garrett, CTO, BHV, said: “We’re getting great feedback from the show. This is a technology preview so that we can fi nalise the product for

release in January.” The fi nal device will be much smaller than the prototype. The company plans a second model adding built-in recording for video, audio and metadata (such as car performance) allowing quick access for reviews and replays. SportsBox supports full 4K60P 4:2:2, and has 4x4K-SDI inputs, each capable of full format conversion, allowing any camera from SD to 4K in any mix to be scaled, synchronised and transferred by a single wireless link. Weighing under 700g, it is based on a single piece of silicon making it highly integrated and capable of surviving harsh sporting environments. 10.B10

Key features include device security solutions that maintain set-top box security while enabling a ‘swap the box’ strategy. Platform security offers AI-driven monitoring and analytics to evaluate the fi nancial impact of piracy. Production and postproduction security safeguards content during distributed workfl ows. In response to the growing number of consumers subscribing to multiple streaming services,

Nagra is showcasing how operators can optimise consumer engagement by leveraging behavioural economics via gamifi cation and AI-powered recommendations, as well as a redefi ned consumer engagement model. Always-on support, powered by generative AI and digital twin models, enables consumers to customise their packages, reducing contact centre costs and streamlining operations. Tim Pearson, Vice President, Global Solution & Partner Marketing, Nagra, said: “Security is a major issue and it’s accelerating as the content market fragments. With the consumer now very much in the driving seat, Nagra’s holistic multi-service security offering is key to reacting quickly to the market.” 1.C81
