BOOM RIG MAKES AUDIO CAPTURE EASY
DURABLE MEGA LIGHTS LINE UP FOR ALL WEATHER ACTION Film Gear (International)

Pole position: The new Boom Rig really holds up
Easyrig BY DAVID FOX
With the release of the Easyrig Boom Rig, boom operators and sound engineers are the next market for the camera weight distribution and support stalwart.
The Boom Rig is designed so that all the weight of the boom pole is on a user’s hips while still giving them full control. Users operate the boom with their hands, but can now do it without damaging their shoulders, arms,
or back. The roller hanger allows the boom to be twisted with ease.
It allows users to operate at high and
low angles, and they can attach a mixer at the front to distribute the weight to the hips. The boom can also be fi xed to the side of the vest to free both hands while it is attached to the rig.
The Boom Rig is designed to be operated with boom pole weights from 2-10kg, and with pole lengths from 2-6m. 12.F82
Film Gear’s new range of Mega modular LED lights builds on its previous RGB Max series and adds more power, durability and versatility.
Models include the Mega 1200C
(four-head unit), Mega 2700C (six-head version), and the Mega 3600C (a 12-head model). All use RRGGBBW colour mixing, with a colour temperature range for the whites of 2700-10,000K. All are IP65-rated for weather
resistance, with a 0-100% dimming range, and for control offer DMX, app and Wireless DMX, using DMX XLR-5, CRMX (LumenRadio), Bluetooth, Ethernet and USB-A communication.
The Mega series has punchy optics, with a tight 19° beam angle, but now with more precise
Punch-packing optics: Some of Film Gear’s rugged Mega modular LED lights
colour mixing thanks to its new seven-colour MCOB LEDs. Each head gives up to a 67% output increase over the RGB Max series. The new design is sleeker, while
retaining durability, and Film Gear has also developed a modular rigging system to allow multiple units to be mounted or hung together. 12.C53
