MENTORING, DIVERSITY AND CAREERS IN FOCUS DURING INAUGURAL IBC TALENT PROGRAMME
A programme of free-to-attend sessions is taking place in the Showcase Theatre today as part of IBC’s fi rst Talent Programme. As attracting and retaining diverse talent, along with addressing various skills shortages, remains a huge problem for the industry, a trio of sessions will explore how these issues can be tackled. Today’s focus will begin with a session on Mentoring that will examine the role mentorship can play in guiding and developing young people in the media technology industry. Hear from both sides of the partnership as they discuss how the process has
helped them and what it takes to be a good mentor.
Diversity will then come under the spotlight with a session that focuses on developing deliberate and intentional targets around diversity and inclusion in the workplace. It will explore what industry leaders should and can do to build and promote standards to achieve a more diverse workplace. Finally, Careers in Media Tech will explore routes into the media technology industry, including the pros and cons of each path. Expect conversations around topics such as talent retention, continuous learning, upskilling and in-house development.
