MULTI-FORMAT VIDEO SIGNAL CONVERSION ON A PLATE
Foreseeson UK BY KIRSTY HAZLEWOOD
The WMC series of wallplate video signal converters has been unveiled by Ophit. These multi-format video signal converters enable high-speed data transmission via an HDMI 2.0 TMDS-compatible optical output signal, delivering UHD/4K resolution at 60Hz without signal degradation. The WMC-DH model allows the user to manually select the HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 input switch for HDMI 2.0 output, whereas the WMC-SD automatically converts 12G-SDI
to HDMI 2.0 for output. The WMC-DH and WMC-SD
are designed to be mounted in a single-gang enclosure. The converters need to be connected to the OMP-HM-R (receiver), which comes with an MPO-type optical fi bre cable for uncompressed data transmission up to 100m with near-zero latency. 3.A62

INNOVATIVE DAB MONITORING IS NO ILLUSION
AVT Audio Video Technologies BY KEVIN EMMOTT
Promising to comprehensively decode and monitor DAB transmission signals in the EDI distribution network, AVT’s Magic DABMUX plus Monitoring Decoder has the ability to monitor up to 25 EDI streams simultaneously.
Based on a DSP-based hardware platform, which is also used in the Magic DABMUX plus multiplexer,
the system supports an EDI input and a decoder including service monitor, as well as simultaneous DLS and SLS decoding for all programmes as standard. A web interface provides an overview of all monitored EDI streams, and with the integrated service monitor and webstream decoder, selected programmes can also be played via the browser. Output via AES67 is available and all decoded programmes can be displayed with audio levels and PAD (slideshow and dynamic labels).
Relevant information is monitored simultaneously at various levels,
including EDI input
Magic DABMUX gives full control over DAB transmission signals from anywhere
monitoring for up to 25 EDI streams; ensemble and service information (ID, label, time, ensemble, load) for a selected input; audio and PAD decoding for a selected service/subchannel; and extraction of the service logo
for each programme. Statistics, ensemble events, warnings and errors are stored in the device’s log fi le and can be fi ltered to display only relevant information. 8.F76
