SCALING AND SAFEGUARDING PERSONALISED CONTENT
XroadMedia BY ANNE MORRIS
An update to XroadMedia’s recommendation and personalisation platform focuses on the application of AI, sports experiences, new ways to utilise social media, and enhanced analytics tools to extend the user journey beyond the UI. Along with supporting natural language and conversational voice search, XroadMedia uses large language models to create emotionally relatable row titles that address users and the content they enjoy. However, XroadMedia notes that these models are usually not scalable, and there’s always a risk that what is displayed
will go against brand guidelines or even offend the user, which is why it is giving control back to editorial teams in this update. XroadMedia is also highlighting new use cases, specifi cally for sports enthusiasts and around social media trends. The aim is to help service providers to create dynamic sports experiences based on real-time sports data, without needing to make changes in their existing UI. 5.B23
