construction moves to final stage

There’s a hive of activity inside Stockton Globe – that’s despite the

COVID-19 restrictions. Repairs to the main auditorium ceiling are under way, the boilers and ventilation systems are being installed and the technical equipment needed to host some of the biggest names and large scale live entertainment is being built off-site.

And although work has progressed, like most other building projects across the country, social distancing restrictions have meant the work can’t take place as quickly as planned but it is on track to open next spring.

Meanwhile ATG are continuing talks with agents to confirm the programme for when the largest live entertainment venue between Newcastle and Leeds opens. ATG’s on-site team have also been working hard behind the scenes to launch the new identity for Stockton Globe.

Stockton Globe’s restoration is funded by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and a £4.5million grant through the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Heritage Enterprise scheme.
