What

next for our town centres?

Following a consultation about the future of Stockton town centre in 2019, earlier this year, we asked for your ideas about what changes and improvements you would like to see in Billingham, Norton, Ingleby Barwick,

Thornaby and Yarm. 1,600 people took part in the consultation and we are now carefully reading and considering your suggestions to help shape the plans for each of our towns.

Here’s a snapshot of what you told us: Billingham town centre

You would like to see more shops, community facilities and activities for older and younger people, as well as improvements to West Precinct.

Ingleby Barwick town centre

You would like more parks and gardens as well as things for young people to do.

Norton High Street

You would like better car parking and more support for local businesses.

Thornaby town centre

You would like to see the Golden Eagle and Phoenix House sites developed and more shops, community facilities, parks and activities for older and younger people.

Yarm

You would like the public toilets to be improved, more green spaces and better long stay parking.
