now within GLI and iGaming and security certification. HOBBIES/INTERESTS I love my holidays and family time; I am married to Jane with two boys Hugo 22 and Harry 18. We also have two dogs (Freddie, a Lhasa Apso, and Jack, a Cockapoo) who seem to enjoy my company and demand it. I am a season ticket holder for Halifax Town Football Club and many friends and clients know how much I suffer every weekend. WHY DID YOU JOIN GLI? A couple of senior people in the company told me some stories. It cannot have been all bad as I am still here. Joking apart, there was a challenge, a clear role, and there still is today, and I enjoy it. WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE? People, we have a great team in all
departments within GLI globally. We also work with some companies and individuals who, as clients, need us to deliver on their behalf in sometimes very demanding circumstances with ever-shortening timelines. Meeting these is very satisfying, along with building new relationships on the way. WHAT RESPONSIBILITIES DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR ROLE? Along with my colleague Chris Davies, we manage and support the EMEIA sales team to ensure our
I would consider that I have expertise across all aspects of the industry and GLI services, however with more of a focus on iGaming. HOBBIES/INTERESTS Away from work for me is all about family time with my partner Ann- Louise, and it is also great to have our daughter Emily return to live in the area after many years away studying and is now fully qualified as a Vet. I love all sports; however, I tend to be watching more than participating these days. WHY DID YOU JOIN GLI? It was completely by chance that I joined the gaming industry, but it turned out to be the best move I have
ever made. I got a great impression from the first people I met about the passion and culture they had for their business. Within 12 months of joining, my decision was further justified as the company was acquired by GLI, the value to clients was new services, a truly global reach, and still dealing with the teams that they had established relationships with. It’s a win-win. WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE? Te people – I’m hugely proud that every single person within GLI contributes to the success of our clients. Within the EMEIA sales team, it is great to see individual progression and growth and for clients to see their businesses go from strength to strength. Our sales team now is in excess of 30 people with 18 nationalities, so we are ideally placed to support clients culturally, with local language and time zones.
I feel that the whole industry is very inclusive and supportive of everyone.
ever-increasing client range gets great customer support, whether it be from account management or onboarding through the new business division. WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES? We have new challenges every day, and this is what excites us and brings some variety to the role. Yes, many submissions are repetitive or similar, but we may have new technologies and services that we get involved with early doors to help clients on their journey. WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WORKING WITH CLIENTS? It’s all about the journey and the relationships built. Despite some testing deadlines and regulations, for me, it’s the satisfaction of experiencing when, as a partner, we get them there on time and on budget.
WHAT RESPONSIBILITIES DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR ROLE? Te most important element of my responsibility and I say this jointly along with my friend and colleague James Illingworth, is that we are here to ensure that our clients receive first-class customer service. Tis is achieved the by the total support of the sales team and wider parts of the GLI Delivery Team. WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES? We are seeing game complexities increasing and time to market decreasing. However, as GLI is a truly global organisation this enables us to deliver against these challenges. We have people across multiple time zones. Tat means if required, a client’s submission can be worked on 24/7. WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WORKING WITH CLIENTS? Te joint journey that we are all on. We are all learning all of the time, and I specifically enjoy the relationships and trust we see mutually with our clients.
