Booming Games announced a landmark partnership with Brazilian football superstar Ronaldinho Gaúcho, "Te Magician", in November 2023. Having launched the first in a series of games featuring the Ballon d'Or winner's image, CCO Frederik Niehusen explains the thinking behind the collaboration.
From all the sportspeople and celebrities out there, how did Booming Games land on Ronaldinho?
Ronaldinho is, without a doubt, one of the most successful and well-known football players in the world. For many, he remains an icon, and even though his professional career on the pitch has ended, he continues to be involved in various projects, with his fame at its peak. When we were considering potential partners, it was clear to us that Ronaldinho would be the perfect celebrity to work with, and we were absolutely right.
Another key reason we chose to collaborate with Ronaldinho is the rapid growth of the gaming industry in Latin America. Te region is becoming a hot hub for gaming, with more and more countries introducing regulations. Establishing a strong presence there is essential for our strategy, and partnering with Ronaldinho has opened doors to incredible opportunities,
