Endeavor Acquires OpenBet for US$1.2bn
Global sports and entertainment company, Endeavor Group, has entered into an agreement to acquire OpenBet from Scientific Games for US$1.2bn.
Te transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022, subject to regulatory consents and approvals, and customary closing conditions.
US SPORTS BETTING
NEVADA – Moon World Resorts has revealed plans to build a moon-shaped Las Vegas resort at the cost of US$5bn. Multiple sites for the 5.5 million sq.ft structure (735ft tall and 650ft wide) have been identified in Las Vegas, the Middle East, China and Spain with target dates of 2026-27 for construction.
The 1/75,000-sized replica moon will feature a lunar surface, accessed via a shuttle station, with tickets costing $500 for a 90-minute session. A 4,000 suite hotel is envisaged, alongside restaurant and bars, clubs, lounges and events arenas.
CANADA –
truenorth.bet has gone live in Canada on Pronet Gaming’s platform. Pronet Gaming’s technology is now powering a full turnkey service that has produced a comprehensive online offering for the new brand after the supplier was selected ahead of industry competitors.
truenorth.bet operates under a full licence granted by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC), the regulatory board for the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake, Canada.
It will also allow
truenorth.bet to offer micro markets on some of Canada’s niche sports, such as sprint car racing, lacrosse and Canadian boxing that are not currently served by other generic platforms.

Nevada - Westgate claims video wall record The Westgate Resort & Casino in Las Vegas has recently upgraded what it says is the biggest video wall in gaming by integrating Semtech’s BlueRiver AV technology into the video wall at the SuperBook. There is now high quality, uncompressed 4K60 video, alongside native SDVoE connectivity, which reduces the cost and complexity of the AV system. The upgrade to the Westgate Resort & Casino SuperBook, home to the gaming industry’s largest 4K video wall (18.8 feet high and 260 feet wide), took five months from conception to completion.
US – John Worthington has been named general manager of Gamewise, a new digital gaming joint venture. Gamewise was recently launched by Delaware North, a global hospitality company
with a portfolio of regional casinos and gaming venues in the US and Australia, and Belgian gaming and sports betting partner GAMING1. It will use GAMING1’s proprietary sports betting and casino platform and product technologies to deliver turnkey solutions.

Global sports and entertainment company, Endeavor Group, has entered into an agreement to acquire OpenBet from Scientific Games for US$1.2bn paid through a combination of cash ($1bn) and Endeavor’s Class A common stock ($200m).
Te acquisition will complement Endeavor’s position within the sports betting ecosystem, currently anchored by IMG ARENA, which works with more than 470 leading sportsbook brands worldwide to deliver official live streaming video and data feeds for more than 45,000 sports events annually.
Te combination of OpenBet and IMG ARENA will create an end-to-end solution, delivering official data and video streams, content, mobile products and betting technology solutions to leagues, federations and sportsbooks worldwide.

BCLC, Loto-Quebec and ALC launch OpenSports platform
Canada
Scientific Games has become the first regulated sportsbook platform provider to offer singles betting in Canada. Te regulated Canadian market embraced singles betting on August 27 and Scientific Games went live with its offering from day one, with the OpenSports product suite powering the sportsbooks of British Columbia Lottery Corporation (“BCLC”), Loto-Quebec and Atlantic Lottery Corporation.

Te Washington Capitals and Caesars Entertainment have announced a multi-year partnership agreement that places the Caesars Sportsbook logo on Capitals home and third jerseys worn for games played at Capital One Arena beginning with the 2022-23 National Hockey League season.
Te landmark announcement marks the first team announced agreement in the NHL's Jersey Advertising Program.
Caesars Sportsbook will have its logo worn on the Capitals home and third jerseys, with the 3 x 3.5 inch patch positioned on the upper right chest area of the jersey.
An industry first, the introduction of the Caesars Sportsbook patch follows the historic opening of the Caesars Sportsbook at Capital One Arena in May 2021.
