PlayStar is set to go live in two states, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, the former later this year and the latter next year. What do you do in the interim? How are you preparing for these respective market launches?

Tere is a huge amount of effort going in from every one of our team and partners to support the build process of our online casino experience. As I alluded to earlier, a part of our strategy is to achieve incremental improvements across several key areas and when executed well will result in significant improvements more broadly. To achieve this, we have every department focused on their area of responsibility, honing their plans, and implementing that into our product build and preparing for our launch thereafter.

Of course, once you have that in good shape it’s off to the regulator to get the seal of approval from a technical, compliance, policy, and procedures perspective to obtain your license to commence operating. So, to say there is a lot going on now is an understatement, but that is the level of effort you need to put in, if you’re going to make an impact in the markets we’re entering and we relish the challenge to bring our brand to life with our focus on personalisation, customer experience and engagement.

When considering potential markets, what factors and criteria are you looking for?

So, building on my previous comments, we need to assess where that market is at in terms of regulation, the number of casino license holders, the number of skins available, the population size, GDP, and propensity of that state to access online casino as an entertainment option. Of course, if a market is live there is a mountain of data available to analyse the performance of the market, determine future growth factors, assess what your competitors are doing and determine if your value proposition will have an impact in that market.

What states are PlayStar interested in pursuing next?

Te short answer is we’re interested in entering any state where it makes sense, keeping the previous comments in mind. With the success of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan of course we’re very interested in pursuing markets with the potential to replicate this success. So, we’re keeping a very close watch and in several conversations regarding the likes of Illinois, Ohio, Indiana to name a few.

Longer term, say five years down the line, where do you want to see PlayStar Casino?

Delivering our "online casino experience like no other" to tens of thousands of players across multiple states in the US, nipping at the heels of the big guys, and a nine-figure valuation after a successful listing on the US stock market.
