Can the Treat Exchange warn operators about attacks before they happen?


Yes, to a degree. For example, when a DDoS attack begins anywhere across our network, we see the malicious IP addresses in real time and inject that data directly into the Treat Exchange.


Customers subscribing to feeds of “high confidence” DDoS indicators can receive updates immediately, often while an attack is still underway elsewhere, giving them precious time to block those same sources. It’s early warning in action.


How are operators using this intelligence in real-world defence?


Te feedback loops are key. When our data helps a customer’s security system block an attempted intrusion, that outcome is logged as a “block rate.” A higher block rate demonstrates the accuracy and effectiveness of the intelligence feed. Many customers integrate the Exchange directly into automated workflows, for example, to lock down user accounts, quarantine emails, or block traffic instantly when a high-confidence threat is identified.


Cybercrime appears to be escalating globally. What trends are you seeing in gaming?


Te volume and sophistication of attacks continue to grow, and the rise of AI is accelerating that. We’re seeing malicious actors train AI to replicate and scale their own attack methods. Tat’s what keeps me up at night - not the lone hacker, but the automation of malicious behaviour. Treat intelligence sharing is one of the few ways we can collectively counter that, by identifying and blocking threats faster than they can evolve.


Why hasn’t the gaming sector had something like this before, when industries like finance or healthcare already do?


Tat’s exactly the question many of our customers have asked: “why haven’t we had this before?” Other industries have established threat- sharing communities, but gaming hadn’t. With our 25-year heritage and trusted position, Continent 8 is uniquely placed to launch something like this responsibly. Te feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive. We’ve onboarded early adopters and seen tremendous interest at G2E. Everyone recognises the value of a unified, industry-wide defence.


Finally, what’s your long-term vision for Treat Exchange?


To make it an essential, collaborative layer of defence for the entire gaming ecosystem. Te more operators, suppliers, and regulators that participate, the stronger the collective shield becomes. Security is a journey, not a destination, and Treat Exchange is about taking that journey together.
