Operator News Entain CEO steps down
Entain announced that CEO Gavin Isaacs had stepped down with immediate effect by mutual agreement. Mr Isaacs has over 25 years of experience across the global sports betting, gaming and lottery industries, joined Entain in September 2024. Stella David, currently Entain’s Non-Executive Chair, will again assume the role of CEO on an interim basis until a permanent replacement has been found. Pierre Bouchut, Senior Independent Director, will become Non-Executive Chair on an interim basis.
Supplier News L&W buys Grover assets
Light & Wonder has bought the charitable gaming assets of Grover Gaming and G2 Gaming for $1.05bn, giving it a leading position in the fast- growing charitable gaming space. Privately owned by Garrett Blackwelder, Grover Charitable Gaming has an installed base of over 10,000 leased electronic pull-tab units across five US States operating under a recurring revenue model. Garrett will collaborate with Light & Wonder to help drive the continued success of the business over the next three years.
Brazil board demands AML policies Operator News
Te Secretariat of Prizes and Bets of the Ministry of Finance (SPA-MF) has sent a letter to all companies authorised to operate fixed- odds betting in Brazil, requiring them to present their policies for preventing money laundering and financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). Operator News SkyCity profits hit hard
New Zealand operator SkyCity Entertainment saw its revenues fall by five per cent in 2024 due to less spend per customer per visit spend, despite attendance remaining strong. With carded play soon set to be mandatory and continuing challenging economic conditions, the operator has downgraded its outlook for 2025. Profit was hit hard due to a US$18.3m settlement with the South Australian government over interest owed on gaming duty at SkyCity Adelaide, dropping to US$3.4m.
Stake to leave UK after advert controversy Operator News
Online players in the UK have been advised by the UK Gambling Commission that Stake will no longer be a licensed website from next month. TGP Europe Limited, who operate the site as part of a white-label arrangement, have stated they will be shutting the site. Te move follows the launch of a Commission investigation into a widely viewed video displaying the Stake-branded logo, which was distributed on a social media platform and featured an adult actress outside Nottingham Trent University. New Timor-Leste casino resort Operator News
Singapore-based Asia-Pacific Strategic Investments has announced plans to develop a five star hotel and casino in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, a country in Southeast Asia, on the eastern half of the island of Timor, which it shares with Indonesia. Asia-Pacific Strategic Investments has
signed two cooperation agreements with Timor-Leste’s vice prime minister, coordinating minister for economic affairs and minister of tourism and environment to

acquire an exclusive casino licence and set up a bank in Timor-Leste. Within three months the parties will finalise
a business plan detailing the number of gaming tables, hotel rooms and other amenities; a plan for tourism and a plan for transportation while the Government of Timor-Leste shall ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. At present there are currently two casinos in
the country; Golden Sands Casino, located in the capital of Timor-Leste, Dili, and MTG Dili East Timor operated by MTG Holding in East Timor.
