As of January 1, 2024, there were 51 companies licensed to operate technical games in the Czech Republic (38 land-based and 25 online), with a total of 24,300 technical games permitted. Since 2011, when there were more than 100,000 permitted technical games in the Czech Republic, their number has been steadily declining.

the Czech Republic has been steadily declining. As of December 31, 2023, there were a total of 707 establishments licensed for live and/or technical games (down from 834 in 2022), comprising 358 casinos and 349 gaming halls (472 and 362 in the previous year, respectively). Casinos account for 51 per cent of all estab- lishments with technical games and/or live games. Since 2020, the absolute number of casinos has exceeded the number of gaming halls. SPORTS BETTING Sports betting is available via retail outlets and online. In play betting is also permitted. According to the Report on Gambling in the Czech Republic 2024 as of January 1, 2024, nine companies were licensed to operate land-based sports betting. Tese com- panies had a total of 1,765 betting offices as of March 18, 2024, compared to 2,147 as of October 28, 2022. Te greatest number of betting offices were operated by Evona Electronic (611),
Tipsport.net (550), and Fortuna Game (535). Currently, most sports betting is conducted online. As of January 1, 2024, a total of eight companies were licensed to operate online sports betting.
