AGEM FEBRUARY 2024 RECAP


1 At the start of the February meeting, Daron Dorsey, AGEM CEO, announced a new Board member, Lauralyn Sandoval, VP of New Markets at Aristocrat, who joined the Board in place of Tom O’Brien with immediate effect.


2 Te first ICE Barcelona show recently took place from January 20-22, 2025. According to Clarion, the show was larger than previous editions, with over 1,000 brands represented across 850 booths to occupy a total of 1.3 million square feet of space, and the transition to Barcelona was widely well-received. While attendance figures are currently undergoing formal auditing, current expectations are between 58,250 to 60,000 attendees, compared to 52,345 in London (2024) - the previous record.


3 Te AGEM Cocktail Reception took place on Saturday, January 18 at the Aziumuth Rooftop Bar atop Almanac Hotel in the centre of Barcelona. Te venue provided the perfect location with the added bonus of a spectacular view of the city as well as Gaudi’s masterpiece cathedral, Sagrada Familia. It was great to see so many members and friends at the reception to start the show week and AGEM looks forward to hosting more of these gatherings in the months and years to come.


4 A new item that is likely to affect all AGEM members globally, as well as many other industries, was added to the monthly meeting agenda regarding USA Trade Policy Outlook for 2024-25. Tere is continuing uncertainty regarding

The AGEM Index grew by 65.18 points to 1,630.00 in January, a 4.2 per cent gain from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the index rose 39.5 percent, or 461.90 points. During the latest month, eight of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases, which resulted in eight positive contributions and four negative contributions to the AGEM Index. The largest positive contributor to the index was Aristocrat Leisure, whose 10.5 per cent increase in stock price led to an 81.83-point gain. Crane NXT saw its stock price increase by 9.9 per cent, leading to a 9.19-point increase. The largest negative contribution to the index was sourced to Agilysys, whose 31.5 per cent decrease in stock price resulted in a 20.22-point loss to the Index.


AGEM is an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, lotteries and components for the gaming industry. The Association works to further the interests of gaming equipment manufacturers throughout the world. Through political action, tradeshow partnerships, information dissemination and good corporate citizenship, the members of AGEM work together to create benefits for every company within the organisation. Together, AGEM and its member organisations have assisted regulatory commissions and participated in the legislative process to solve problems and create a positive business environment.


the implications of tariffs and trade conflicts that will affect goods and services across nearly all supply chain. AGEM is monitoring the situation and aims to provide information to its members and provide an industry forum to discuss items monthly. Also, Associate Member KPMG will be hosting a thought leadership seminar on the topic in Las Vegas on March 13, 2025 to discuss Trade Policy practices, their impacts and risks. Tis is an issue that will affect the industry for the foreseeable future and AGEM is focused on providing as much assistance to members as possible.


5 Brian Sullivan from Clarion Gaming gave a presentation for the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention that is taking place from March 31 – April 3, 2025 in San Diego, CA, first thanking AGEM and its members on behalf of Chairman Stevens for continued support and contributions to the event. Per Mr. Sullivan, pre-registration to the event is going well for the San Diego location, which is again proving popular with exhibitors and visitors. Clarion also shared IGA event location through 2030, splitting IGA between the popular San Diego Convention Centre in 2026, 2028 and 2030, while the Las Vegas Convention Center will be the location in 2027 and possibly 2029.


FORTHCOMING EVENTS 1 Te EKG Slot Awards Show produced by Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG) will be held on February 27, 2025 at Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas. AGEM is a sponsor of this key supplier event that recognises excellence in slot game development. Each year, EKG determines winners across 25 plus product categories including both land-based and interactive games.
