The latest trends

OUR CRAFTING EXPERT SARAH HURLEY LETS US KNOW WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR THIS YEAR

A 1 Colour

Spring marks the time for bright and breezy colours, with pink being particularly favoured, alongside dark, moody shades and crisp monochromes. The contrasting light and dark hues look great together, and perfectly complement the metallic colours that are set to be bang on-trend for the rest of the year.

2 Sparkle & shine

Glitter, sequins and shiny metallic hues are here to stay, with lots of sparkles, foiling and iridescence. Adorn your papercrafts with glam embellishments and coloured glitter, add sequins to your knitting projects and create jewellery with shiny stones. Rose gold and gold also remain in style, while lots of silver and luminous shades will increase in popularity towards the end of the year.

s we head into spring, it's time to start thinking about the hottest new trends that are set to wow the crafting world over the next few

months. Need some advice on what to look out for? Search no further, as our expert has travelled far and wide to find all of the latest crazes, discovering everything from key styles and colours that are coming our way, to the most en-vogue crafting products on the horizon.

Watercolour & brush lettering

Watercolours remain all the rage, most likely because they're fairly easy to work with. Altenew has a beautiful watercolour palette that will soon be released, but if you're looking for something a little more versatile for mixed media projects, then the Brea Reese watercolour inks are a perfect choice. Brush lettering is also a fast-growing craze, and it works perfectly with watercolours and planners, too.

4 Planners

& traveller notebooks

Planners and their smaller counterparts, traveller's notebooks, can be found everywhere at the moment; you can embellish them in any way you want and their size makes them easy to carry around with you wherever you go – I can see why they're so popular! Webster's Pages have created some beautiful new planner designs, and Simple Stories and Echo Park have a fantastic range of traveller notebooks.

magic and fantasy

The mystical and magical theme is set to continue, with unicorns,

mermaids, fairies and all things fantasy. The on-trend mix of deep shades and pastel colours also gives this theme a feeling of mindfulness and relaxation, in order to transport you to another world.

46 CRAFT CLUB MAGAZINE 5 Letter boards

Crafting your own home décor is still a craze at the moment, with letter boards being one of the most popular items to create because they're so easy to customise with a personal touch.
