organised. Not the green-fingered type? It’s an equally useful way of keeping your cleaning or bathroom products to hand, and you can add pockets to tailor it to your specific needs. If you want to make it more sturdy, simply add a piece of MDF to the base.

gardening caddy 3 You will need

Stitch a

l 20in square patterned fabric l 50in x 20in stripe fabric l 20in square of Bosal single sides fusible foam stabiliser l 24in of 1in wide webbing l Use ¼in seam allowance

1

Cut two side panels from patterned fabric and two from stripe, measuring 15in x 9in. Cut two end panels from

patterned and two from stripe, measuring 6 ½in x 15in. Cut two stripe base pieces measuring 15in x 6 ½in. Your Bosal will fuse to the wrong sides of the outer patterned panels and one base piece. Cut the Bosal ¼in smaller than the fabric pieces all the way round, so the seams are along the edge of the Bosal and not through it [1]. For the pockets, cut two pieces of stripe fabric measuring 20in x 12in. Fold each in half lengthways and press.

2 3

With the fold at the top, sew the ends of the pockets to the sides of the patterned pieces, lining up the bottom edges. The pockets will be wider than the sides [2].

Measure 5in from each side, and sew straight down the pocket, through the patterned fabric and Bosal.

Flatten the centre of the pocket to form two equal pleats, then sew across the bottom of the pocket to secure [3].

4 5

Cut two 10in lengths of webbing and sew, facing inwards, above the pockets[ 4].

Cut two 7in pieces of webbing, sew the ends to each side of the end panels, then sew down the centre of

the webbing [5].

6 7

Sew the end panels right sides together to the side panels to make a tube. Sew in the base, line the

corners of the base up to the side seams and start sewing ¼in from the base corners. Turn the right side out [6].

Repeat with the lining, but leave a turning gap in one of the base seams of about 8in [7].

8

Drop the outer bag inside the lining, right sides together, sew around the top [8]. Turn the right side

out, sew the opening closed and press. Top stitch around the top of the caddy and you’re finished! Turn through again and press.
