Vintage tea party Make a bunch of flowers

using your ScanNCut JO FOSTER SHOWS US HOW TO JAZZ UP AN AFTERNOON TEA

trend, this fabulous ScanNCut project will give your next (or first) gathering the perfect look and feel. It’s deceptively simple as the machine cuts all of the pieces precisely, leaving you to get on with the fun part: choosing your theme and constructing the pieces. We’ve added pompom ribbon and pearls to the cake stand, but a pretty lace edging would really complement the vintage feel.

As a finishing touch, add faux

stitching around the base holder so that it matches the design of your flowers, then use your leftover paper to cut out cupcake holders.

hether or not you’re already on board with the vintage tea party

You will need

l Cutting Craftorium Home Sweet Home USB – Marigold Design used l Cardstock of your chosen theme l Bendy straws l Hot glue gun l Florist Tape l Wet glue such as Pinflair Bookbinding Glue l Glass jar l Scissors l Sticky roll l String l Buttons

1

Cut four flowers using multi-coloured paper – double-sided paper works best.

2 3

Using a fine tip pen, draw faux stitch lines on each.

Assemble your flowers using the pre-scored tabs then add buttons to the centre of each for a vintage-inspired look.

4

Cover a bendy straw with florist tape leaving approximately 5mm of the

top uncovered, then cut the straw into four lengths.

5

Place two circles from the pre- installed shapes in the ScanNCut and

place one on top of the other. Reduce the size of one circle to 7mm and the other to 40mm. Group and save, then cut in green card.

6 7

You will need

l Cutting Craftorium Decorative Dimensions Vol 2 l Card stock of your chosen theme l Corresponding pen l Pompom ribbon l Pearl embellishments

1

Select a bunting design; I’ve used a butterfly pattern.

2

Draw the bunting before cutting if using a plain card as this will give your make a

drop shadow. After drawing leave on your mat and cut. Repeat until you have the desired number of flags.

3 4

Attach a large pearl embellishment to the bottom of each bunting, then snip the

pompom ribbon and thread though the holes to attach the bunting together.

Add ribbon to each end of your bunting to hang.

Place the circle over the straws and use your hot glue gun to attach them

to the back of your flowers.

Cover the centre of a recycled jar with sticky roll, then carefully wrap string

around it to decorate, then put your flowers inside the jar.

String some party bunting
