The short story Flame Angels by Marilyn McLaughlin is about Justine and Eamon, two teenagers living in Derry who attend different schools – Justine attends the Protestant girls’ school, while Eamon goes to the Catholic boys’ school. Their schools have decided to join together to produce a version of Romeo and Juliet on the Derry city walls. Justine and Eamon start a relationship during rehearsals – but at times they struggle to communicate.
