Apprenti ceships
We off er a wide range of apprenti ceship schemes, run in partnership with Basingstoke College of Technology and Fareham College.
We currently have 41 members of staff studying clinical healthcare apprenti ceships across the Trust, discovering new and exciti ng ways to improve the way they care for our pati ents.
Healthcare Assistant Diana Morris is working towards a Clinical Health qualifi cati on and has already studied modules including food and nutriti on, safeguarding and infecti on control.
“I’m really enjoying having the opportunity to learn new things and I’ve really proved something to myself by doing this. I showed that it’s never too late to go back to educati on and the reward has been realising that I can do it."
Work experience
We have been building community contacts over a number of years to create as many opportuniti es as we can for people who are interested in pursuing careers in the NHS. Around 300 people have placements with us each year and the feedback we get from most people is that the experience has been life-changing.
We work with Basingstoke Consorti um, Peter Symonds College, Basingstoke College of Technology and Queen Mary’s College, encouraging students to take up work experience opportuniti es. We also work with the Prince’s Trust, JobCentre Plus, Enham Trust and Step into Health.
