Hospice home care team


We are very proud to have received ‘Outstanding’ for End of Life Care from the Care Quality Commission. We are determined to help people close to the end of their lives stay out of hospital and in their own homes.


Based at the Countess of Brecknock Hospice, at Andover War Memorial Hospital, our 12-strong Home Care Support Team provide a ti mely, high-quality package of care that is fl exible to meet the needs of pati ents where there is no existi ng community care available.


Gina Bignell, one of our Home Care Support Workers, said: “Pati ents are always saying how grateful they are to us for caring for them, but we are grateful to be able to provide the service. It’s so rewarding.”

Thanks to the Home Care Support Team, Keith Chesney, from Andover, has been able to remain in the comfort of his own home.


“It’s fantasti c to be able to be at home. It’s so much more relaxed than being in hospital. I’m able to do more of the things I’d like to do and it even helps me to feel a bit bett er.


I cannot praise the nurses who come out to treat me at home enough. They are all really friendly and nothing is too much trouble.”
