Milie Bennison was named Student Midwife of the Year aft er receiving six nominati ons, both from doctors and midwives. She is now working as a qualifi ed midwife at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.


“I wanted to make the transiti on from a student to a qualifi ed midwife here because of the support I got through my training. I could not have been a midwife if I hadn’t done my training here. Everybody I worked with when I was training was great. I had brilliant mentors and all of the staff were really supporti ve, something that has conti nued now I have qualifi ed.


My favourite thing about being a midwife is getti ng the opportunity to connect with women. It’s a complete privilege to do the job and share amazing experiences with these women.”
