2.2 A beacon is something you can see from afar, which helps you to orientate yourself .
2.1 Industry is the manufacturing of goods in factories.
3 A natural beacon is something that stands out and is part of nature, such as for example a river or a hill. A man-made beacon is something
made by people, and which helps to orientate people. An example would be a building.
4 The route must include two man-made beacons , for instance ‘turn left when you get to the third traffic light’ (or the name of a street) and include two natural beacons, for example when you see the big oak tree, you must’ and it has to include words of direction, example left or right. Learners’ answers will differ.
5 The municipality supplies services, such as refuse removal and a sewerage system.
6 The learner will probably recommend a capital city, because the friends are already used to the infrastructure of a big city. The learner will maybe choose a city with special natural attractions. A big city will offer good hospitals, schools and job opportunities. The specific city will depend on the learner’s preference.
