Vi Technology Intros 3D AOI System
Saint-Egrève, France — Vi Technol - ogy, a provider of inspection solu- tions for PCB assembly, has intro- duced its K Series3D, its newest 3D AOI system. The system is the latest evolution of the company's suc- cessful K series. By combining its extensive
2D AOI and 3D SPI expertise with new proprietary technolo- gies, the series delivers highly- accurate, all-around defect cov- erage that includes lifted compo- nents, lifted leads, tombstones, etc., for components up to 25mm (1in) in height. Coupling high- quality telecentric 2D images with dual-camera blue-laser-based 3D profiles guarantees superior inspec- tion quality for pre- and post-reflow. The series is also available as a cost- effective 3D AOI upgrade to existing 5K, 7K and 9K systems. By using the company's Sigma
SPI machines, to provide an inter- connected solution for the most demanding manufacturers in the automotive, aerospace and defense sectors.

North Billerica, MA — BTU Inter - national, a supplier of thermal pro- cessing equipment, in collaboration with Electronic Controls Design (ECD), has developed the RecipePro recipe generator software. The com- pany also offers its Energy Pilot soft- ware and other Industry 4.0-ready solutions. RecipePro includes convection
rate in its recipe generator algo- rithm, which pairs it well with Pyramax™'s closed-loop convection control. The integration of ECD's recipe generator technology into BTU's reflow systems offers manu- facturers a streamlined and effective approach to initial recipe generation for higher yield results. The profiler will reduce non-productive time by streamlining the set-up process. The software is included with new Pyramax reflow ovens that are con- figured with convection control. The Energy Pilot software cuts
down on the use of energy whenever the oven is idle. Standby mode can

save more than 25 percent, and a sleep mode can be used for longer interruptions — saving more than 40 percent energy. Long idle periods shut down the oven fully into hibernation. Recovery times are minimized by remote sensors and SMEMA. Oper - ation is fully automatic and results in an overall reduction in electrical, air and nitrogen consumption. The oven's short response time allows it to return to operation quickly, and not to dis- rupt product flow. Energy Pilot and RecipePro are
features of the company's proprietary Wincon operating system and are available to existing Pyramax users by upgrading Wincon to the latest
version. Contact: BTU International,
